Ergonomics (Ergo) Program

The mission of the Ergonomics Program is to provide needs assessments and equipment modification recommendations to increase the safety of USDA employees, including employees with disabilities and the prevention of secondary disabling conditions.

The Ergonomics Program is responsible for the following:

  • Individual Evaluations: Focused one-on-one assessments to cater directly to your ergonomic needs.
  • Team Assessments: Group evaluations that ensure your whole team can work comfortably and effectively.
  • Follow-Up Support: We offer follow-up visits to ensure that our recommendations are working for you over time.
  • Improved Comfort: Reduce pain and discomfort with scientifically backed ergonomic adjustments.
  • Increased Productivity: A well-designed workspace can boost your efficiency and output.
  • Healthier Work Environment: Prevent long-term health issues with a proactive approach to workplace ergonomics.

The goal of TARGET Center is to support all USDA employees in their efforts to remain safe and comfortable at their workstations.

Through consultations, education, and product-related services, we help protect our customers in the workplace. The USDA Ergonomics Program uniquely provides ergonomic assessments for employees. This approach provides employees with comfortable chair fittings, sampling mice, keyboards, and other ergonomic accessories.
